Brighton based metal out­fit Pyre are look­ing to make their mark upon the UK metal scene in 2010. With influ­ences includ­ing Iron Maiden, Nightwish and The Off­spring, Pyre com­bine a mix of soar­ing melod­ies, pound­ing riffs and mem­or­able hooks to cre­ate their own slant on con­tem­por­ary metal. Dr Spacetoad, fea­tur­ing the debon­air Dr Spacetoad him­self, onstage with Capt Sens­ible & Monty Oxy­moran from the Damned, Pete Berk from Jonny Moped, and Capt Barrington-Whyte. Per­form­ing this Sat­urday (6^th of Feb) at the Brun­swick Pub in Hove will be Dr Spacetoad’s 1^st appear­ance in Brighton since 2007 and prom­ises to be another great RMC his­toric event!

Baba Slips are a five-piece eclectic funk out­fit, who have been play­ing in and around Brighton since 2007. Their sound is a syn­thesis of funk, soul, blues, afrobeat, dub, reg­gae and hip hop with a strong enough vein of pop run­ning through their sets to keep the live shows exil­har­at­ing and the hooks stuck in your head for weeks after­wards. Hav­ing rocked most of the main ven­ues in Brighton includ­ing the Komedia, The Conchord 2, The Blind Tiger Club Speak­easy and the Volks, and fol­low­ing the suc­cess of sev­eral Gla­ston­bury sets, Baba Slips are cur­rently work­ing on new mater­ial and gig­ging, as you would expect, and widen­ing their scope bey­ond the para­met­ers of Brighton.
