My Research Records, going out on Radio Free Brighton as part of the Human Rights Watch (Saturdays and Sundays) is covering some very interesting subjects. In their own words the show “invites research students based in Brighton to talk about what they have been investigating and why it is important. Between the discussion they can play their favourite music that may or may not be relevant to their research.” and seeks to ” to bring the often hidden world of post-graduate research into a more public forum in order to provide an educational resource for listeners and to act as a form of research community informing other students and activists of debates that may be relevant to them.”

Every show will be presenting a new piece of research and the story behind it, so be sure to listen.

You can find thier latest shows here — “Andrei Gomez-Suarez on the destruction of the Union Patriotica in Colombia” and “Tom Bentley talks about what it means when nation states apologise to each other for historical atrocities

Tune in this week to the Human Rights Watch on Saturday 25 June at 8PM for a thought provoking interview with Yvonne Ridley, who speaks about how her time under the captivity of the Taliban led her to read the Quran and subsequently become a devout Muslim. She addresses misconceptions of Islam and Islamaphobia, discusses her work with Viva Palestina and her recent experiences in Egypt and Libya, and provides a critical analysis of the Obama Administrations international policies. If you can’t tune in on Saturday, find repeats of the show throughout the weekend on the RFB shedule.
