Whether you’re single, a couple, or wotever, come down and hang out at the cow­ley, make some new friends and have a good time, without the pres­sure and comer­cial­ism nor­mally asso­ci­ated with the day!

This Valentines; escape from all the hetero-normative bland­ness of the city and other estab­lish­ments on this night, and make your way down to the Cow­ley Club for an even­ing of queer lavishness!”

Born In Flames”, Feb 5th

Born In Flames (Liz­zie Bor­den, 1983), the fam­ous fem­in­ist cult sci-fi film, will be shown in a rare screen­ing at the Duke of York’s Pic­ture House on Sunday the 5th of  Feb.

Explor­ing a vis­ion of Amer­ican soci­ety liv­ing with the broken prom­ises of their cor­rupt revolu­tion­ary gov­ern­ment, in a coun­try rife with inequal­it­ies and told through the voices of two under­ground radio DJs Born in Flames is a must see for any­one with an interest in polit­ics, fem­in­ism or film, and also for any­one want­ing to see a grip­ping movie!

This screen­ing is part of a lar­ger cal­en­dar of events tak­ing place in Brighton for LGBT His­tory Month.

Candlelight Carol Service

Brighton LGCM (Les­bian and Gay Chris­ti­ans) and Chan­ging Atti­tudes Sus­sex  present an even­ing of car­ols and musi­copen to all on Thursday 15th Decem­ber at St. George’s Church, Kemptown.

Both groups are camapig­n­ing and work­ing towards cre­at­ing a more inclus­ive church, edu­cat­ing people through­out the coun­try and stamp­ing out homo­pho­bia and pre­ju­dice of all kinds from Chris­tian and other reli­gious movements.

Pride in Brighton and Hove Community Focus Group

Pride would like to invite inter­ested parties to a new monthly meet­ing tak­ing place On Thursday 8th Decem­ber 2011 at 7pm St James House Com­munity Room, High Street, Brighton, BN2 1RW.

The aim and object­ive of the meet­ing is to involve the com­munity in its pride and share views and have involve­ment in decisions for next years event.

World AIDS Day, December 1st

Decem­ber 1st is World AIDS Day, and to mark and reflect upon 30 years of HIV and AIDS there will be a candlelit vigil and read­ing of names from 6 til 7pm. All are wel­come to come and remem­ber lost loved ones. Space will be avail­able for any­one seek­ing quiet moments of reflection.

New names to be read can be added to the list dur­ing the day at the memorial space in New Steine Gardens.

New Let’s Go Buy Trousers (LGBT) Show with Claire!

Radio Free Brighton is wel­com­ing Claire and her new LGBT show;  A half an hour look at Brightons LGBT scene, with inter­views from those act­ive in the com­munity, debates, thoughts, ana­lysis and of course, the best of LGBT/queer based music.

24 and Brighton born and bred, Claire has been out and proud since she was 15. A true geek at heart, she loves cook­ing, gigs, music, night­life, cider, com­puters, tech­no­logy and film. She cur­rently lives in sunny Kemptown.
