One Day Workshop For Strings

The work­shop is on Sat­urday 3rd March, 10am-4pm, at the Corner­stone Com­munity Centre, Church Road (next to Pal­meira Square).

We’ll be cov­er­ing top­ics such as acous­tic loop­ing, iso­rhythms and impro­visa­tion, scordatura tun­ing & exten­ded tech­nique (& much more) — if you’re new to these areas all the bet­ter! Being able to read music isn’t essen­tial — just bring your instrument.

This Brighton String Work­shop is facil­it­ated by Lizzy Carey & Bela Emer­son, both exper­i­enced and enthu­si­astic music lead­ers & tutors, as well as pro­fes­sional con­tem­por­ary string players.

Cost: £40 advance (£30 concessions/if you book before the end of Janu­ary) — £50 on the day.

Organ Recital at Sussex University Tuesday 6th December

If you find your­self on Sus­sex Cam­pus on Tues­day 6th of Decem­ber at 13:15 why not head over the the Meet­ing House for a free organ recital per­formed by James Lloyd-Thomas, the University’s organ­ist? Last­ing just over half an hour it’s the per­fect way to soak up some live clas­sical music halfway through the day, and is open to all.
