Learn­ing mat­ters takes a rad­ical look at issues in edu­ca­tion and learn­ing. The show fea­tures inter­views with lead­ing prac­ti­tion­ers includ­ing local col­lege prin­cipals, teach­ers, youth lead­ers, par­ents, film makers, etc. Other times the pro­gramme sur­veys the cur­rent edu­ca­tional scene and gives advice to par­ents and young people.

Ian invites local edu­ca­tion spe­cial­ists and heads of edu­ca­tion to dis­cuss teach­ing, learn­ing meth­ods and pur­poses. Also advice for par­ents and assist­ance in how best to sup­port kids both in school and in home education.
